Paschal Nnaemeka – In farming, sometimes you have to adapt quickly to unexpected situations. When you are working on land where rain is scarce, you can’t afford to miss any opportunity.
Recently, I noticed it started raining, so I decided to plant cassava stems right away, even though the farmland hadn’t been weeded yet. The priority was to get those cassava stems into the ground while there was still moisture available. If we had waited to weed first, the rain might have stopped before we got the planting done, and all that effort would have gone to waste. Planting first means the cassava can soak up what little rain we have left, and we can catch up on weeding once the stems are in the ground. It’s not the perfect way to do things, but sometimes you have to make quick decisions to make sure you don’t miss your chance.
